Tattoo or Bracelet?

Unlike you @987jaj, I am not a first response, EMT, Paramedic, etc. but I asked several EMS persons the question about tattoos a few years ago when a topic like this appeared.

I had a ready supply of EMS people when our daughter was Charge Medic and Field Operations supervisor in charge of about half of the 52 trucks EMS had on the road around the clock; that was before she went into medical research [cancer cure] and began teaching at the university.

Very rarely would a “Medical Tattoo” be seen unless it was right where something like an IV would be seen; as you say, a bracelet is most obvious - considering lighting conditions during a trauma intervention. What also helps is the “ICE” app [In Case of Emergency] on phones, it defaults to the top of the phone contact list.
