Yeah my basal is 1.55 from 12-3, 1.65 from 3 am-8pm and then 1.6 from 8pm-12am. So would you still do 1.5 across board or leave evening through 3 am since I’m not seeing any issues then?
Taylor, like your doctor, I would like to see more information. Especially how your glucose levels have been from dinner time onward. The Dexcom “hourly statistics” report would be helpful, and the single day glucose day graphs would certainly give significant information.
What I find very helpful is the Tidepool graph that displays both glucose line and insulin delivery right on the same chart. Which pump are you currently using? If you are using Tandem, I find the t-Connect phone app very informative - it displays 24 hours including all CGM dots and insulin delivery. I review that most mornings while waiting to begin my breakfast and closely observe the overnight relation between basal and glucose.
I know that I would add several more “timed periods” so I could fine-tune basal rates, and also allow bolus I:C Ratios for different meals.
My thyroid med instructions say to take 30-60 minutes before eating so food won’t interfere. Since you’re up at 3am to take a shot, could you take your your med then? It sounds odd and you might want to run it by your doctor but it would leave you free to have breakfast when you want.
