My 8 year old son has diabetes and we are looking for a daycarenter or someone that who would be able to care for him. Someone who has cared for or currently caring for Type 1 diabetic children. The daycare center we have him in this summer is not working out and not many centers want to take him or even learn about it. We both work in Dallas, TX but live in Allen, TX. Please let me know if anyone knows of anyone.

You might try to contact home daycare centers. Individuals are often more willing to learn about special needs. Your son is old enough to check his blood sugar, treat a low, and give injections or dose with the pump. What type of needs does he have?
I'm probably too late in responding, but have you joined the type 1 sitters facebook group? Maybe there's someone who would want to nanny over the summer.
I hate finding summer childcare too, and my son doesn't have D -- ugh, good luck, it's the worst!
