However the CGMS is another issue...... Today, i really felt like ripping it off and driving over it a few times!
Try putting your pump on vibrate only setting. I was near nervous breakdown from the constant beeping and have just recently put my pump on vibrate only. It has helped tremendously.
ndstephanie, congratulations on starting with the pump. I know exactly how excited you must be; I just started a couple of months ago myself!
I can't give you any specific advice on the Omnipod, as it is not available in Canada, where I am located. I have the Animas 2020 (even the Ping is not available here yet!).
What I can say is do as much research as possible before you start. I read the book "Smart Pumping for people with diabetes", put out by the American Diabetes Association. I found it to be very informative but not boring. The author has taken a "By-now-you-know-enough-so-I'm-not-going-to-bore-you-with-details" approach. He even touches on some meotional issues that I think are common to all Type 1 diabetics.
Starting with the pump is a little like starting a new job: you'll know the basics on your first day, but as time goes on, you'll become more and more used to it and you'll perfect your "technique" (sorry, couldn't think of a better word!).
