Brandan played in the kiddy pools for a couple of hours today and his infusion set is starting to come off. (It's a bummer, I just did a site change this morning.) So, yeah, I'm gonna start using Skin Tac. I never heard of Tac Away until today. Do I need that to dissolve the Skin Tac and remove the set? Does anybody think baby oil will work? It's what I've been using to remove them.
It's funny you posted this b/c I've been thinking of trying the tac away. I use skin tac for my CGM, and when I take it off (doesn't hurt to just peel off quickly like a band-aid), I take a hot shower and then rub the sticky stuff off with an alcohal swab or even my palm. B/c I change the sensor every 7 days rather than 3 w/ a pump, the skin tac still doesn't always hold. My pharmacist recommended sealing down the parts that are peeling up with fake eyelash glue from the cosmetics section. Works GREAT, but gets sticky and disgusting and hard to get off. I should try the baby oil idea!
Have you tried those big square tape like things that can go over a pump site? It's been too long since I was on a pump, so I forget the name, but I'm sure someone on here can help you!

[/quote]IV3000 I-Hand Tape. :) Gina has it in her blog pictures, and that's what I use to hold down my CGM sensors, too. Smith & Nephew make the ones I use. Here's a link to it:
Hopefully the link works... heh.
The link worked, but YIKES! Too expensive for me. Thanks anyway. :) I think Brandan would get mad about those anyway. Crossing my fingers for the Skin Tac to work.
Oh... I was just showing you what they look like; your insurance would most likely cover them. Good luck with the Skin Tac! :)
