School lunches

Is anyone else confused that fast food and most restaurants have access to nutritional information, why not in schools.

School catering systems are always three steps behind the fast food industry. :)

my school does all you have to do is ask them to see one

I eat lunch from home. :)

Most schools should have a list of all the nutritional information of the items they serve. I know at my daughters school they provide me with a list of items including the carb counts.

They do have them , they're just not available unless you ask for them. When I first went on Lantus and needed to count carbs I had my school nurse talk to the food providers about getting carb counts for everything.  They were real nice about it, and gave me all the info I needed as well as copies of everything so I could always have it with me at lunch.  It's a lot easier to have your school nurse ask them or have your parents call the school just to make things more lejit/official

True, that way they don't make up stuff just to make you shutup.. Sometimes they will do that..

My school actualy didn't have the nutritional information until I was sixteen and a seperate company came in and took over. Then we were provided with nutritional information and the carb counting. It didn't matter to me though, I haven't eaten a school lunch since I was in 5th grade. Honestly I can't say that I miss it. =)

one time i was at white spot and asked for nutritional information but they didnt have any. a couple days ago i went to white spot at a different place and they had a huge binder filled with nutrition facts. if i asked for the nutrition facts at the cafeteria, im sure my teacher would find it for me.

I don't know about my high school cause i never asked but my elementary and middle school did. they took me into the back where they keep the food. most off it's in boxes so they showed me the labels. just ask about it
