One Word to Describe How You Feel Today!

motivated, little tired and missing people

exhausted

I feel you Jessica!! The school nurse has been calling me all day with Shyla's numbers. They are up and down so much. at 9am she had dropped down to 47 (after PE) and then by lunch she was up to 236. Now the nurse just called a few minutes ago and she is back down to 51 (went outside to play for recess).. I just want to scream!!! :)...... I think its because she is back in school and not to mention i think we are hitting the "honeymoon" stage. This is so nerve racking!! Sometimes i think about just quiting my job and staying home with her. But then i think i can't do that to her or myself. I have to let her go and be the person she is and at the same time i have to keep myself together to i can be the MOMMY i need to be for her.  We just want to protect our babies!! Hopefully by wednesday we will be back on track!!....Hopefully your little one is having a better day at school :)

I have not gotten a phone call yet. Sadly her school doesnt have a nurse there all the time. One nurse for 7 schools so she travels around. The secretary over sees them. So blah she should have already tested before lunch lol Yeah I think I am going to call and find out what she was at so I can relax a little.

Bless your heart. I'd be a wreck too if there was not a nurse at Shyla's school all day everyday. I do feel it is a blessing because she is the only diabetic student in the school and they have gone above and beyond for her. Believe it or not the Principle, School nurse, Guidence Councilor and her Teacher all showed up at the hospital when they returned to school Monday the 7th of December and they found out Shyla was in the hospital!! I had never heard of school falculity doing that. It really touched me and showed me that they do care about the students.....I think you have EVERY right to call that school as much as you want to check on your baby....Is she the only diabetic student in the school? I do wish there where other diabetic students with my daughter just so she could maybe learn a thing or two from them, but the good part about her being the only one is it seems like everybody in the school watches over her :).....Now you have me worried about your little one, just knowing there isn't a nurse there. Hopefully you have good news by the time you read this and as usual our worrying is for nothing :)

Swomped!!!!! I have way to much to do and to little time. ............and yet I find time to get on Juvenation:)

No she isnt the only one there are 3 others. Last year there was 5. So they pretty much know what to do. The only thing that has me steaming is the nurse told me today is the district doesnt use the glucagon because she can only train people on rouitine meds. She is in for a earful like it or not she has to because its federal law that she does. Or I will train them lol which in itself is a joke cause I have not done it myself but the paper that comes in it gives detailed directions. So I am less sure of her care there than I was earlier today.

annoyed. severly.

Restless.  I want my bassoon back from the shop!  And I should really get off Juvenation and finish my homework.

Hurt.

I fell at work today. Ugh

Exhilarated

Good morning Jessica....Hopefully all went well at school yesterday. And i totally agree with you!! I would turn them in as well. That is YOUR child and you have every right to make sure she is getting the best possible care when she is out of your sight. You would think the one place you could feel safe that your child is at would be school!!..Hey if you need any other parents to back you, i'm here for you!! If we can't count on our school systems for our children then who can we count on....It is good that she isn't the only other "D" child there and hopefully she has befriended other children in her school that have the same routine she does......After talking with Shyla after her first day back yesterday, i kinda feel the opposite as you. Her biggest problem seems to be too many people caring about her (go figure) She says teachers are always asking her how she is feeling, if she is OK or does she need anything. LOL.....I guess its just another way of our kids telling us to just leave them alone and let them be kids. :)....If they only knew the worrying we did about them during the day, but i know the one time i try not to worry then something will come up...I guess it all just comes down to TRUST!!!

lol yeah a lot of people asked Riley if she was ok all day long. Poor girl just shook her head at everyone. She is to shy for her own good. I was able to find the state laws for school nurses that say she HAS to train others on how to use the glucagon. So she is going down. I didnt have a chance to talk to the principle after school yesterday so I will catch him today even if I have to wait on him. The boys and talking to others doesnt go well so with them in class I will be able to talk to him. Oh and goo morning to you too.

I'm glad you was able to find the State Law. Of course once you say those two words you will definitely get their attention. You Go Girl!! :)....I love to see parents who truly stand up for their children or just children in general. So many of us are just so busy with "life" in general that we let things just go just because. So to know you are going that extra mile for your daughter is just heart touching. I'll say a little prayer for you, but i KNOW you will get everything straightened out.  And you would think the nurse would want to train as many people as possible. If i was a teacher and i had a diabetic child in my class i would definitely want to know everything possible. Hey, even if i was the janitor of the school i'd want to know. Just for the simple fact you never know when one of those "lows" are going to hit, where the child maybe in the school when it happens. I've even gone so far as to tell the bus driver that Shyla is T1 and she allows her to sit in the first seat on the bus so she can keep an eye on her. And believe it or not the bus driver informed me she is diabetic as well so she would definitely watch over Shyla.....We had thought abuot moving, but after seeing the way Shyla's school goes above and beyond for her, i refuse to move!! I refuse for her to go to any other school........Well, i'll be thinking about you and please let me know what happens with the talk with the principle......

Ha! It's 37 right now. Today's forecast is low 26 and high 50. The wind chills make it feel like the 20s at night. But you're right, anything below 70 makes me feel a little cold when I'm not in the sunshine. (Don't hate me.) :)
