Hi all,
My Endo says it is fine to have a non-carb meal. Your thoughts? I apologize in advance if I have asked this before…information overload! My head is spinning.
Hi all,

Cathy @HopeFloats2020 , what the heck is a “non-carb meal”? Just about all foods have some carbohydrate - even if you eat only several slices of skinless chicken breast. Yes, low-carb.
Two thoughts about uploading your Dexcom G6 data to Clarity. If you have a phone with Bluetooth, install the “Dexcom G6” app; this app populated Dexcom Clarity automatically.
Later today, I’ll check and see and let you know if my HP Chromebook [both USB-A and USB-C ports] is compatible with the Dexcom uploader utility - there are many things a Chromebook can not do.
@Dennis thanks.
My phone is incompatible with Dexcom app and Clarity is what I I was told by the Dexcom customer support.
Cathy @HopeFloats2020 , the Dexcom Clarity uploader is NOT compatible with Chromebook OS. It will work on Windows PC.
I do view all my Clarity reports on Chromebook, and on my Android phone. I’ve activated “notifications” on my Clarity profile and selected the option that allows Dexcom to send me an email report every Sunday that covers what happened to me during the prior 7 days, and a text message on Thursday telling me how often my Dexcom readings fall within my personal goals - and within the standard 70 - 180 mg/dl range. Keeps me striving.
@Dennis
Thanks for checking! I think I may just get a laptop. I have been looking around recently anyway.
Try Tandem T:Connect. It doesn’t share your numbers with a friend or family the way I gather the Dexcom app does, but it will let you view your numbers and sync your account so you can share that with your doctor’s office so they can log in to see how you’re doing.
Dorie, Dexcom G6 app is NOT Dexcom Follow, two different utilities. Dexcom G6 app uploads data from G6 sensor sensor in real-time to Clarity and generates the 8 Clarity Reports for visual review or printing. All without needing to attract a wire. A really awesome tool. Can be programed to deliver a selection of Dexcom Reports automatically.
The very lowest cost item that runs clarity might be an ipod touch 6th gen. several years ago, parents would get them for their kids as a low cost option, just had to have wifi available to the child.
I wonder how long an ipod would remain compatible though…
Thank you for clarifying. Since I don’t use either I was mistaken about both without realizing I didn’t know (let that roll around in your head for a while😫).
Just a thought, Cathy.
Your phone may not be on the list being used by the Dexcom Rep, but have you tried to install the “Dexcom G6” app? Give it a try wherever you usually find apps - it just MAY install - but worth the try before you spend money to buy another device.
Help me out Dennis. If you need the info on clarity. It seems like you have to install the clarity app. If you want to use your phone as the dex receiver then you need the dex app and I think you need a third thing for follow. Is that right? I may have to buy one to get this straight!
@Dennis I’ll take another look. I was on with the rep today again. I was told I could not use either app but that I could use the receiver to get reports and share data with my Endo. I need a computer for that.
@joe I believe you are right on the first two points.
Hi @HopeFloats202! I’m curious - what kind of phone do you have?
@Joe, @HopeFloats2020 , it has been a while since I’ve used the Dexcom receiver so this is my recollection. [When Basil IQ or Control IQ is activated on a t-Slim, the pump becomes the principal receiver and the Dexcom Receiver becomes deactivated.]
Other than when BIQ or CIQ is active, the Dexcom Receiver is the PRINCIPAL: Receiver for both G5 and G6 Sensors, and a phone [and some tablets] can be used as secondary receivers. Dexcom Clarity, a computer web-based utility [ clarity.dexcom.com ], can be used for reviewing sensor readings, history and for generating eight different reports that can be saved, printed, etc.; a user can also authorize sharing of the uploaded information with her medical care team. The only way that information is uploaded from the Dexcom Receiver to the internet Clarity, is by connecting a wire between the Receiver and a computer; at least that was so with my four year old Receiver - wireless MAY be available now.
The phone app, Dexcom G6, links directly to the Dexcom transmitter via Bluetooth, and becomes a secondary Receiver - just as the way my phone works as a secondary while my pump is primary. The phone app can be used to view and print reports, and it also populates the web-based Clarity utility. Naturally, a “smarty phone” [I really dislike that term] will usually fully function as a computer.
Clarity when used as a Phone App, has features that can be activated that are not available on the computer-based utility - such as the “notifications” feature. Also, and for me VERY IMPORTANT as I don;t have good hearing, are the alarms on the phone, plenty loud.
I hope this helps.
Galaxy A21. I have requested that it gets added to the list of compatible phones at Dexcom’s suggestion.
Cathy @HopeFloats2020 , it is not simply a matter of being added to a list, but rather does the device (your phone) have the necessary hardware and software to connect with the sensor transmitter.
I got that! I presume it would be a software update
Correct Cathy @HopeFloats2020 , it is not anything that dexcom is not doing but rather the phone capability. I suggest that you make certain that you have the latest Samsung update installed, power off your phone, turn your phone back on, and then search Google Play for ^Dexcom G6 app.
Try to install, and see what happens.
