Being raised on the early artificial sweeteners in addition to a 0 tolerance policy on sugar influenced what I eat.  I find Diet Coke to be about the only thing I crave with sweetener.  Other than that I really like nuts or peanut butter.  One thing I found that made shopping and cravings easier was going vegan, the few choices left to eat are usually low in simple sugars and bad fats.

Even some of the "sugar free" sweetners can effect blood glucose.  You are better to have natural sugars such as honey, maple syrup, brown sugar than the chemicals.  Just count the carbs & be mindful of portion.
