Are we willing to pay more $ for more accuracy
[/quote]
i'm willing to pay more money for more accuracy. that would mean i am able to have better control with less risk of complications and less impact on my health/overall quality of life. even if it costs me more and i have to cut back somewhere, i'd be all about it. maybe i'm the only one, but the idea of better control is always a good idea to me.

While I would also like better accuracy.
If you read the linked FDA transcript you will see that the current accuracy is as good as already better than most of the rest of the system is delivering.
Accuracy of syringes, accuracy of carb counts, accuracy of labels, absorption etc
Edit : Interesting paragraph from FDA report page 64
"17 And one of the interesting findings in the
18 study, which was published in 2002, is that patients
19 failed to meet ISO criteria. None of the five meters
20 in the patients hands met ISO criteria in this study.
21 Two of them met ISO criteria in the technologists'
22 hands, but none in the patients' hands."
