A nationwide clinical research study is being conducted to find out whether an investigational agent can help preserve your body’s ability to make insulin.
You may qualify if you:
Are 18 to 35 years of age
Have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes within the last ten weeks
If you qualify and choose to participate, you will receive an initial consultation, study-related examinations, and investigational agent at no cost to you. Compensation for time and travel will be provided.

I think it is too early to really tell with me. I am on more insulin now then I was when I went in, but I am still honeymooning(will be a year in April since diagnoses). I was hoping for better things then what I am seeing, but then again...maybe I am have good results.
I have heard of some people have amazing results from it, but I think that it still varies a bit from person to person.
I had little to no symptoms from the actual study drug. I had a headache after dosing on day 4, and again day 5, 6, 7 and 8....but they all went fairly quickly(and they treat for all of that). That was all to be expected though.
They are following me until 2012(at least, that is what my schedule shows that I was given).
