A log book is just a book with a sort of chart where you fill in your blood sugar, carbs, and insulin. It helps diabetics keep track of their numbers. You can usually get them at a pharmacy, and I would suggest you do - I think it would help :)
Alright, so here's the "J" signal, my friends! (nice idea btw, CJ1230); and of course, anyone with an imagination knows the shadowy figure at the right is Gina :)
You should always consult your doctors if you are having problems, or make changes to your regimen because although we at juvenation probably can go for our doctorate degrees in diabetes care we are not healthcare professionals and things that work for us may not work for you.
I agree with Gina I think that you should make and emergency appoitment with your Dr/Endo. to get further assistance. They probably know you a little better (medically) than we do.
Janna, great news !! Glad to hear your going to "Cowgirl Up" with this thing. I'm going to side with Gina. Your best bet is to get in with a doctor as soon as humanly possible. If you're appt is way off, call and try to get in earlier. Explain the seriousiness of the situation. Like you've tested over 600. And, you can't seem to get your blood sugar below 327 with tons of insulin. Also get into an educator. In the meantime you can get good advice here. But, none of us have a license to practice medicine. This isn't you trying to go to a forum and find out how to rebuild the carberator on your '57 Chevy. Or, going on a forum to try to learn the chords to "Imagine" by John Lennon. This way too serious for that.
If you can't get into the doctor soon, next time you're HI, go to the emergency room. They'll get you stabilized and give you a referral to a doctor that can probably get you in sooner.
You need to find another doctor. There's good ones out there and bad ones. I've seen both!
I don't know what you're relationship with your Mom is, but maybe you should talk to her and explain how you're feeling and need to get things straightened out. Many of us have gone through rebelious denial stages with it too, but diabetes never goes away and it always wins if you're not doing the right stuff. If you're Mom can't or won't do what you need, talk to a counselor at school maybe about it.
based on your correction scale you should have taken about 8.6 units of fast acting insulin not 6. Has your blood sugar come down at all since the 365?
Also make sure you drink plenty of liquids at least a glass of water every half hour to stay hydrated and prevent DKA. Which we don't even know if you have at this point. Have you told your mom that you aren't feeling well? Are you sick to your stomach at all? peeing a lot? Any other symptoms other than feeling tired?
not at all. just tired and thats cause i am so insomniatic cause i worry about stuff 24/7. i don't think i've ever had keytones. and i feel better than i did earlier
