ya i know :(
Janna! most of the time?! You are SO going to Diabetes Boot Camp this summer, right here on Juvenation lol!
Try getting a huge drop in your A1c by the time you see your doc. Make their jaw drop. I bet you can do it!
i'll need some help with that :)
Then I've got AMAZING news! You so came to the right place :)
(hello? yes, that's me calling all Juvenationers ;) I'm on the only one posting! and we all know my opinion isn't the best... so let's give Janna Re-D 101, ok?)
lol Alyssa you are so funny! :)
I'm not kidding, Janna!
It explains the antenna that is sticking out of my head.... it's my homing device, I'm signaling the Juvenationers!!
.....no one's picking up.....
PS
i see Gina looking, so at least someone listened to the signal....
Janna,
If your meter just said HI after three days is this because you haven't taken any insulin either? Have you been going to the bathroom and drinking a lot? I am glad you are trying to get on track. But, if you don't feel well you should really call your doctor or go to a hospital because I am afraid that you will go into or have DKA. Probably the same exact thing that landed you in the hospital at diagnosis.
Do you have an endocrinologist? or any kind of certified diabetes educator you can talk to like right away? I understand what you are saying about being on the go but, is it possible to try and check your blood a couple of times a day just so you know where you are at. Maybe when you wake up, at before lunch and before bed for starters. You have to wake up and go to sleep sometime you can't be on the go 24 hours of the day! haha And you can try to remember to test before at least one meal. I think it would be better than nothing at all.
Unfortunately, we all have to deal with our life and having diabetes and dealing with work, school, friends etc... There is no break when you have diabetes and if you don't take care of yourself it can lead to some serious health conditions, and if you omit insulin even death. We want to see you live a long healthy life. If you need any help I can put you in contact with some people from the JDRF.
Don't worry about what your a1c is right now, just worry about remembering to take your insulin and checking your blood sugar. Its all baby steps for you right now. If you can remember to do these things it is a step in the right direction.
What kind of things do you do all day that you are on the go all of the time maybe we can make suggestions on how to help you remember.
Whew. Thanks, Gina. You can always say it better than me lol.
And: now I'm not alone, which is always good :) Wahoo!
However, Gina, I must say you need to stop posting. I can't catch you if your numbers keep going up :)
Hello Ladies,
Well I was ready your posts and say Alyssa's call for help so I'm here to help. So I see Janna that your a very busy lady and things are pretty out of whack right now. And I've been in your position of forgetting alot of things until I got onto a pump, and now life is easier. But I see that your still on shots, and starting with a 1:10 ratio and your on Lantas.
Ok well you said that your snacking is good, but lets re-start with the small things, Alyssa is right when she says that you should throw your supplies into a bag that you can have close by at all times. And I know that you said that you hate shots and you get tired of doing this stuff(but unfortuntaly darling you are going to have to :P), and I think we are going to have to find something to keep you motivated??? Like getting that A1c down and blowing the socks of the dr's(I love doing that!!!!!!!)
This is going to be ALOT of trial and error until we can help you with fitting your diabetes back into your schedule so that you will stick with it!!. So I guess we should start there for the best success. Tell us about your day and the kind of things your up to????
CJ
It's always nice to hear that:
1) I'm right :)
2) People listen to my Batman call :)
Gina- i have been taking insulin just not the right amounts. i've just been so overloaded recently and i just need to relax and remember what is important.
CJ- thanks and i've been working, went to a movie and now i'm making monkey bread :)

How about a "J" light up in the sky instead!!!!
CJ

Janna,
Sorry darling I don't know what monkey bread is(but I bet it's good!!!) So since you've been home from the movie have you tested?? Just to see where you are incase you had snacks at the movie??
Do you have a blood machine that you can put in all your meal and dosage's or do you keep a logbook?
CJ
