come to think of it my sugars have been even crasier sine i started mine.. of course the only reason i started was for cramps.. im thinking about stopping.. maybe u should talk to ur doctor who perscribed ur bc and see what they have to say.. i rarely tell my professors about my diabetes. if i do its usually wen its easy and theres something that brings it out.. other than that i keep it to myself.. i find it to be awkward... my sugars have been in the 200's for awhile.. idk if its because i was going to the gym all the time and havent been able to because of school and work.. its hard because i would ask some questions i just dont want to be nosey.. i do hope u find something that works for u so ur sugars and a1c's go down.. sorry i cant be more of a help...
I was always told I couldn't take birth control with my 'fragile' diabetes. I had much the same problems as you when I was in college and had been a diabetic just as long. (I don't have a pump, however.)
Just use condoms! I never had a problem with condoms working ;)
I did have an awful time in college. It was much harder to keep my sugars under control than ever before. I had quite a few super lows that involved trips to the hospital which had never happened before college. Things get better though. Just make sure you're eating on a schedule and eating the same amounts at the same times.
Birth control pills put me in the hospital in college.....1980-ish. The BC seemed to block the insulin, no matter how much I took it just didn't work.

Always worked for me too. :) Keep in mind though, that as my Dad used to say, "nothing's 100%"
Thanks for all the input and support everyone.
The semester just ended this week, and within 24 hours my blood sugars have started to even out. I talked with my endo and am trying a new bc to see if that helps at all, too. And I finally got insurance to approve the Dexcom! It's still really pricey, though, but wearing it about a week a month and seeing some improvements there, too.
It still amazes me that school stress has such a huge impact on my blood sugars. I guess part of it is that I just finished my junior year... one to go! But for the last year, (and grad school), anyone have any really good stress coping mechanisms they'd like to share?
