Does anyone know how to figure out your correction factor/insulin sensitivity factor?? i'm pretty sure mine is way off. everytime i correct using my current ISF my sugar drops way low. Thanks!

Try to see you endo when you can so you can let them know of these changes. Hope it all work out.

So, by using that calculation, HV, would I include my total dose of basal+bolus, or just bolus?

Hm...doesn't seem correct for me. Based on that calculation, one unit of insulin would only drop me 20 points, but it's usually more like 40-50.

Did you try the one for your insulin?

Yeah I don't think they are perfect either but it's what I could find.

I did 1800/TDD(~75u) and got 24. When I divide only by my total bolus (1800/40) I get 45, which seems about right.

I was asking if you used the formula for the right insulin.

No problem I hope it helps. Maybe check with and without your basal since we are getting different numbers back for different people.

The number I got without my basal seems more correct than the number I got with the basal. So i'll try that one for now, and see what my numbers are. Getting an appointment with my endo is near impossible (3 month wait!) so i'm just gonna figure this out by trial and error until i can see him.

I know what you mean Marsha I have to wait two to three months to see my endo too.

I am a grandfather whose grandchild has T1D. I am a retired professional engineer. I used Microsoft Excel to perform a bivariate linear regression analysis of my grandson’s blood sugar, carbohydrate intake and insulin injections to determine Sensitivity Factor (bg-to-insulin ratio) and Carbohydrate-to-Insulin Ratio. This approach can be used in conjunction with your doctor to home in on the appropriate factors. I would be happy to send you a copy of a report that I created to document my approach so that you can try and wrestle these factors to the mat, which can be frustrating. Best regards.
