Well I would like to think that diabetics know how to give shots better than nurses considering we know when it hurts and we've adjusted to it...i hate getting shots at the doctors office too.

Back when I didnt have a pump I would give a shot in public and no one would notice, everyone isn't as observant as they are in movies.
How about this, to fight the ignorance we should raise money to air a television commercial about type 1 diabetes and tell people to come here for more info.

I'm a nurse and a diabetic, and most of the time when i give people shots they say they didn't even feel it! I think it's because I've given myself sooooooooo many. One time, in a walk letter campaign, I calculated out approximately how many shots, fingersticks, and all that good stuff I had received up to that point. I think I got more responses than ever that year.
