A Day With Diabetes

Hey, folks,

We just returned from a 5-day camping trip.  I generally blog about our outings, activites, etc. on our family blog, and did the same for this trip, because it's a great way to share with family and friends.  I occasionally blog about William's T1, but mostly I keep to non-T1 stuff.  This time in addition to the usual pictures and descriptions, I also posted separately a fairly detailed description of what it's like to care for a child with T1 during one of these outings.  I wrote it mostly because I want people to understand how much time, energy, effort, and thought goes into keeping our family life "normal", and to understand that making these types of outings happen can be very stressful if you let it, but that is it absolutely possible to pull off.  It turned out to be a therapeutic exercise for me, as well.

Anyway, the "normal" description of our day is here:  http://fivebearsablogging.blogspot.com/2010/04/scfl-camping-day-4-saturday.html

And, the "diabetes" description of the same day is here: http://fivebearsablogging.blogspot.com/2010/04/day-with-diabetes-scfl-camping-saturday.html

If there's anyone in your life that just doesn't seem to "get it", who just doesn't seem to understand what you're dealing with on a daily basis, feel free to direct them to these articles.  And feel free to let me know your thoughts as well if you read them.

Blessings,

Mo
