75 years old. Spent 40 years in national defense (military, aerospace, naval nuclear propulsion program). Retired at 62. 4 months after retirement diagnosed with late stage 2 melanoma. Had wide area incision and sentinel lymph test done. Was clean until 2017 when was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. Was placed on a clinical test program of Keytruda. An infusion every 3 weeks for a year. Finished treatment in May 2018.

September 2018 hospitalized with renal failure and acute pancreatitis and a glucose reading of 1074 mg. Initially diagnosed as a type 2 with possibility of recovery. Put on Lantus and Humalog. First became aware of Keytruda diabetes relationship when visited by endocrinologist in hospital.

In December honeymoon was over. C-peptide of <0.1.

Married 49 years. Two married children and 4 grandchildren.
