I am 41 years old, an art teacher k-8th, a wife of 13 years, and a mom of two. I was diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 23, after I had gestational carrying my first child. I have no family history of diabetes so it is simply an autoimmune case with me. I have struggled on the roller coaster of blood sugars since diagnosed. I am not on a pump; I take novolog and treseiba. I am very active and exercise a lot. I like to garden, play with my son and my dog, and cook delicious healthy meals. That’s me!
