Diagnosed at age 14, been on a pump nearly the whole time since diagnosis. This past summer, I officially passed the “halfway” mark and I have now spent more of my life as a diabetic than as a non-diabetic! Kinda crazy to think about, yeah?

I’m an x-ray tech, but previously have spent a lot of time working in the veterinary field. I love all animals, but small mammals are my favorites, especially guinea pigs. I love to run on my treadmill and will practically live outside during the summer! I enjoy music, writing, drawing, reading, cooking, and hiking, as well as TV, Pokemon, and caring for my guinea pigs, Casper and Poptart!

The most important thing I’ve learned from my experience as a diabetic is to adopt a healthy lifestyle, do what I need to to take care of myself, and beyond that… to forgive myself when I make mistakes and when “my body won’t obey.”
