My name is Joe and I’ve had T1D for 43 years. My diagnosis was one week before Christmas of 1977. I remember the day as if it were yesterday.

I am an Histologist (tissue researcher) by trade with a graduate degree in Laboratory Science. I currently work for a smalll biotechnology company in the San Francisco Bay Area. And I’ve been in my field for over 30 years.

My wife and I have two sons in their 20s. We’re an active family that likes weight training, boating, fishing, baseball and pretty much any outdoor activity.
