I have had Type 1 DM since 1997 (I was 17 y/o at time of diagnosis). No complications, 4 pregnancies (including one successful twin pregnancies), 3 beautiful kiddos. I use the Medtronic 670G and eat an ultra-low carb diet. I still struggle with how much DM rules my life, but am thankful to be managing it in time with so much technological advancement and dietary options. Professionally, I am a Nurse Practitioner, married to an M.D. and am passionate about chronic disease management and vulnerable populations.
