Crochetnut - Those articles have to do with t2 diabetes. We know we can't prevent and autoimmune disorder :o) . They are interesting reads, though! Even if we can't prevent our diabetes, it's interesting (at least to me as someone with a career in food/nutrition) to see how foods may help prevent others from developing the other forms of diabetes.

I rotate every test, two on each finger (one on each side), but I skip my pinky. My mom uses only my pinky if she checks me in the night.
Also, if I am looking for a pattern, I'll test on the same finger, but on the other hand. A difference in blood sugar between my pinky and thumb has been over 50 mg/dl before.

Pinkies bleed like crazy
pointer finger and pinky r my favz but i use all my fingers
I mainly use the middle, ring, and pinky fingers on my left hand. I rarely use any other fingers or the right hand. I have accumulated quite the collection of little marks on my 3 go-to fingers.
None. Just my arms. Also, I have done compare and contrast between my finger and arm and it is always the same or within 5 mg/dl.
it usually always my left hand to start off with then usually my ring finger...
I use my thumbs the most. second favorite is my middle finger on my left hand
left hand, ring finger and pinky. those have the easiest skin to poke thru. i NEVER do my thumb, it hurts too much
I mostly use my right hand, but I use the four fingers pretty equally.

I was just going to say this. I rarely use my thumbs or pinkies, and it takes forever to get my pinkie to stop bleeding.
I use my three middle fingers, mainly my ring and middle. I use my left hand a lot more than my right, too. Probably has something to do with the fact that I'm right handed. Occasionally I notice how beat up my left fingers look, so I switch to my right hand for a while.

I remember a nurse or educator when my son was in hospital to only use fingers. The reasoning was when you use your forearm the reading is about 30 minute old. I have never given it a second thought but I would like to give his lil fingers a break. Have you ever tested to see if you get the same reading from your arm and finger? Just curious.

Try toes! I have been using my toes for 6 months now and the readings are really close to finger ones.
I use my ring, middle, and index fingers the most. I use both hands so it's easier to rotate.
Live life with diabetes, not around it.
:D
i use my pinkey the most

[/quote]Because of the decreased circulation in lower extermities that can come from diabetes, and the risk for gangrene and possible toe, foot or leg amputations that happens for many diabetics later in life (i know young people in their 40's too)
I do NOT recommend toe testing. Please check with your MD BEFORE trying this method!
