Diabetic Bags

My son needs a bigger diabetic bag!!! (desparately)

Where do you get your diabetic bag from (website or company)?

What do you mean by diabetic bag. Just a bag he keeps all of his stuff in. Does it need to be diabetic related?

does not need to be diabetic related but needs to keep all the stuff like shots, strips, alcohol swabs, ketostix, etc. organized.

We use a small disney CARs book bag we bought at target over the fall last year. Its very small Toddler size.

I was going to ask the same thing....what is a diabetic bag?  I put my stuff in a purse or a backpack, depending on what I'm doing.  Obviously your son won't use a purse, but a backpack should work.

this website has a few options that a boy could use...http://myabetic.com/products.php

and some others-

We found one of those mini backpacks at some outdoors store, and it's plenty large enough. Most everything fits in her meter case. So in her meter case she has the meter (obviously...), lancing device, strips... I check it each night and restock a few of each: lancets, small cotton swab thingys, and a small tube of frosting. I also have one of the old strips cases in there so she can stuff it with garbage. Besides that, she just carries two cans of apple juice and two bags of Grips (little cheesit servings).

Actually, lately she's been switching between her backpack and about five different purses on a daily basis. :-)

those look like good options!

personally, I use my meter kit for my test strips and lancet, and then i have a separate bag that is simply a medium cosmetic bag for my syringes, insulin and used needles that fits in my purse.

That's exactly what I do for my testing supplies - I don't use the meter case that comes with it.  I throw everything loose in a small cosmetic bag.

does anyone know of a web sites where u can get free diabetic stuff

Sometimes http://www.insulin-pumpers.org/ has a few things that people offer to give away

http://www.fifty50.com/ is also a good one.

You can also check out Tallygear.com or look into getting a SPIbelt. those are belts that have muliple pockets that can carry all their d-stuff. Depending on your son's age that might work better having something 'attached' to him most of the time versus having to remember to carry his bag along.
